Seriously. Read, then re-read. What Jill said was in no way offensive or even a topic to stress or get your panties in a twist over. I knew what she meant, and thought the whole thing was taken lightly by her. She was just being cute Jill. Not vicious “I hate vegans CHANGE YOUR LIFE RAWR RAWR RAWR RAWRR” Jill. Because that isn’t how she is.

She made a language suggestion. That is it.

They were always one of my favorite bands. In fact, they were probably my very first favorite band. So as I’m cooking breakfast this morning I casually notice that my kitchen clock stopped last night right about 4am, and I without realizing it I start singing ‘4am’ to myself and suddenly it occurs to me that I haven’t listened to OLP in years which is obviously really sad. So I pull out the two CDs of theirs I have…and the cases are empty. Don’t know how that happened.

Thankfully, I have bitorrent to fuel my nostalgia and feed my music habit.

Needless to say, Our Lady Peace songs, etc will be hitting the blog soon.

While at work yesterday, I told one of our customers this and my boss, Nancy (who is probably in her mid 70s) told me NEVER to say that again. She said it sounded ‘flip’. Said it must be the ‘generation gap’ because that saying just drove her nuts.

Generation gap… pft.

No one, other than Nancy, would ever be offended by that saying.

I say this all the time. I annoy myself sometimes because I say it so much.

i think what he means to say is “a lovely blog about mac and the mac inspired aesthetic” because that’s all i’m seeing here.

i wonder if people are aware that there is more to the concept of ‘minimalism’ other than things that are white and glossy?

There’s nothing wrong with that sort of thing. Obviously it’s worked out nicely for Apple and scores of imitators. It’s just funny that the meaning of words change. Minimalism now is simply an aesthetic.
